This week on The Practice Plan, we’re unpacking the Realignment Framework. In my experience, this can be one of the most challenging tools we cover because it's one of the most tempting for our ego to get involved.
The essence of the Realignment Framework is to ensure we’re taking care of our side of the street first and foremost. It’s often much more comfortable to point a finger at something else or someone else and believe they’re the problem. The Realignment Framework shifts the focus back to us.
And, to be clear, the intention of the Realignment Framework isn’t to say that we shouldn’t be giving feedback or holding others accountable. But often the best way to enter those tougher conversations is with ownership over our part and a personal commitment to show up differently too.
And still, sometimes we’ll walk away from the Realignment Framework with the recognition that our frustration wasn’t with the other person as much as with our own misalignment.
